They say once an Addict or an Alcoholic, always an Addict and a Alcoholic.
Well I don't really agree with that. God gives everything we need, Yes Alcoholics Anonymous wants you to keep coming back, and yes AA gives us a foundation to live life on life's terms, a tool, a design for living. Jesus Christ wants to take us place's we never dream of! We have to give it all away to keep it, a Program of Recovery and Ministering The Word of God, The Truth, Jesus Christ. With a foundation in recovery I can live happy, joyous and free. Jesus Christ completes me, here and for Eternity.

My name is Branden Alfano,
I’m twenty four years old and was strung out on heroin for four years. God stepped in at exactly the right time and brought me to Truth and Recovery Ministries in Sylacauga, Alabama. He did this right before I hit the “jumping off point” that was inevitably coming. Those four years of my life were literally hell on earth, I was a zombie simply existing to get high and getting high to exist. I would wake up “dope sick” every morning fiending for my next fix just so I could function for the day. Every second of every day was all about getting money to stay high. My mind was constantly racing on ideas of how to get money. I had no constructive thoughts what so ever and thought about nothing but drugs. I would get money at any cost. Whether it meant breaking into houses, cars, stealing from work, it didn’t matter as long as I could get high. I was lawless and a completely lost soul being a slave to heroin. Heroin was my master and I did everything it told me too. In those four years I was in and out of Jail 14 different times, lived in a broken down car in Birmingham, destroyed countless relationships, totaled and lost four brand new vehicles including a motorcycle, got me and my girlfriend evicted from our apartment, dropped out of the University of Alabama in Birmingham, racked up more debt then I like to think about, and completely made a mess of my life and the people in my life in every way imaginable.
God showed up when He knew I could not take it anymore. He sent me to Truth Recovery Ministries for a year to get the help that was way past due for me. God used Bobby Smith, Jim Herbowy, and Dave Jones to literally grab me out of the depths of hell and give me my life back. For Truth Recovery Ministries and these three men of God I will always be grateful and thankful. I have my life back again and words cannot express how grateful I am for that. I am no longer in the bondage that drugs and alcohol had on me. Today I serve a new Master, one that I am more than happy to serve! Life is even better today than it was before I started using drugs and alcohol. I have a sound mind, sanity, maturity and peace today. I have very good friends that I actually have the ability to love now and my family in my life again. I give God all the credit for the things I do have now. I know God used TRM as a very powerful instrument. Without Truth Recovery Ministries I would still be a lost soul simply drifting through life with no purpose or reason to live. Today my purpose is to serve God by helping others get the help that was so gracefully given to me. Thank you TRM!!!!
